Who we are
Drive Your Career (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a transportation recruitment and HR consulting firm based in Richmond, BC, Canada, operating driveyourcareer.ca.
What information we collect
If you’re a job seeker using our job board
Name, email, phone number, city and region, resume file, and your application history on our site.
If you’re a candidate we’re actively recruiting for a role
Everything above, plus: licence class, driving experience, abstract count, owner-operator status, FAST card status, equipment and terrain experience, employment status, work eligibility, shift and schedule preferences, and — where relevant to the role and disclosed as part of the screening process — DUI history, criminal record status, and drug test results. This information is collected to assess fit for commercial driving positions and is only ever shared with a specific hiring company with your knowledge, as part of presenting you as a candidate for a specific role.
If you’re a company using our job board or working with us as a client
Company name, contact name, email, and phone number, along with any business records related to our work together (proposals, contracts, invoices).
If you sign up for job alert emails
Your email address and any region or role preferences you provide. We only send you alerts after you confirm your subscription by clicking a link in a confirmation email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email we send.
If you visit our website generally
We keep a basic, anonymous count of which pages are visited and when, for our own understanding of site traffic. This does not include your IP address, browser fingerprint, or any cookie-based tracking — we do not use tracking cookies for this purpose.
How we use this information
- To connect job seekers with relevant open positions
- To present qualified candidates to companies we’re recruiting for
- To provide HR consulting and recruitment services to our clients
- To send job alerts to subscribers who’ve opted in
- To communicate with you about an application, a job posting, or a business relationship with us
- To generate compensation and market research reports (this uses aggregate, company-level wage and benefit data — not personal candidate information)
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- A candidate’s information (resume, screening results, driver report) is shared with a specific hiring company when we’re actively presenting that candidate for a role with that company
- Service providers who help us run the site: our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our email delivery provider (Resend), and, for resume processing, Anthropic’s AI service is used to help extract contact and experience details from uploaded resumes to save manual data entry — this processing is used only to assist our own review, not to make automated hiring decisions
- If required by law
Where your information is stored
Our database is hosted in Canada (Supabase’s Canadian data region).
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request a copy of it
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent or request deletion, subject to legal or legitimate business retention requirements (e.g., contract or tax records)

Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage, access controls limiting who can view sensitive data, and private (not publicly accessible) storage of uploaded documents like resumes and driver’s abstracts.
Children’s information
Our services are intended for individuals who are legally eligible to work in the transportation industry. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
